Referrals for Clinical Psychiatric Services
Our practice requires a direct referral from your GP for clinical psychiatric services.
We welcome initial enquiries directly from you, your family / whanau, and other health professionals. After your initial enquiry, a GP referral will be requested.
A referral from your GP allows us to have a broad understanding of your medical background to inform assessment and treatment.
Our practice administration team are available during office hours to provide further assistance and guidance on the referral process.
If we think another service would be better-placed to assist you, we may suggest that contact is made with that service instead, and will do our best to facilitate your referral to this alternative service.
Referrals for Psychotherapy
Our practice welcomes direct enquiries / self-referral for short term and longer term psychotherapy.
Please let our practice administration team know that your enquiry / self-referral is for psychotherapy – rather than for clinical psychiatric services - in order for them to direct your enquiry appropriately.
You do not require an initial GP referral, however you are welcome to ask your GP to make an initial referral on your behalf, if you wish to do so.
You will then be contacted to discuss your direct enquiry / self-referral, answer any initial questions you might have, and book your first session.
