We are a private psychiatric clinic offering specialist medical assessment and treatment for a range of mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar affective disorder, personality disorder, psychological symptoms due to trauma or injury, and psychosis. Treatment options include short and long term psychotherapy, as well as medications.
For new clients wanting to access clinical psychiatric services, a GP referral is needed in order to book your first appointment.
A GP referral is not needed for psychotherapy appointments - self referrals are welcomed.
Unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to offer assessment and treatment for people under 18 years of age, over 65 years of age, or for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Capital Psychiatry is registered as an ACC Supplier. Our psychiatrists can undertake assessments and treatment reviews for mental injury from a sensitive claim, or for mental injury as a result of a physical injury. Referrals for these assessments must be directed by ACC.
Capital Psychiatry is an inclusive practice, with a profound respect for diversity and equality regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, culture, religion, or sexual orientation.
Dr. Chris Garvie is registered with ACC to work as a therapist for clients with a sensitive claim. Clients are able to self-refer to Capital Psychiatry for sensitive claim therapy.
